Amberlyn Kelleher Yoga

“The cure is care. Caring for others is the practice of peace. Caring becomes as important as curing. Caring produces the cure, not the reverse. … Peace does not come through strength. Quite the opposite: Strength comes through peace. The practices of peace strengthen us for every vicissitude…”

– Robert Sargent Shriver, Jr.

About Amberlyn

Amberlyn hopes to share with her students the experience of being fully alive and in the present moment. Daily yoga practice has been transformational in Amberlyn’s life and has provided a tool for knowing and accepting herself more completely. She invites individual exploration of the body, breath, mind, and heart as she believes that each student is their own best teacher and that through the practice of yoga, all aspects of the self can be united.

Amberlyn Kelleher, Yoga Instructor

Amberlyn enjoys working with students who are uncertain about what yoga can offer them, students just beginning their journey into yoga, students interested in the therapeutic applications of yoga, and students looking to experience their practice more fully. Classes also offer an experience for personal exploration along with the opportunity to be a part of a community with others undertaking a similar journey.

Amberlyn integrates the knowledge of modern psychology with the ancient wisdom of yoga and views both sets of teachings as opportunities for diminishing suffering and understanding the human condition.

Education
She completed her first 200 hour teacher training in 2007 at Hot Yoga and completed an additional 200 hour teacher training with Max Strom in 2010. She is certified in prenatal yoga, has completed further training in anatomy, and is an ongoing student of yoga.

Amberlyn completed her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology, Washington D.C. in 2011. She holds an M.A. in Psychology from Sul Ross State University and a B.A. in Psychology from Reed College.

She maintains a private practice working with adults, adolescents, children, and families and is interested in the integration of yoga and psychotherapy.
